When?
The conference takes place on Thursday 11th September 2008 9:30 am - 12:30 pm.
Registration will be from 9:00am to allow for a prompt start at 9:30 am.
Childrens Services, Walsall MBC have kindly agreed to provide lunch.
Where?
The Crossing at St Paul’s, Darwall Street, Walsall. WS1 1DA
Who?
The conference is aimed at those who guide and steer organisations offering services to children and young people including trustees, directors and management committee members.  If you carry or share the responsibility for an organisation that offers services or facilities for the benefit of children, young people and their families then you should attend the Childrens Sector Provider Conference 2008.
What?
The conference will include a short information session on commissioning, what makes it different and such a hot topic and why it is viewed as an important process in the future. The place of commissioning in Walsall will be put in context including summary of the issues local organisations are likely to face. Delegates will have the opportunity to consider strategies for change and moving their organisations forward as a positive response to developments; the advice and help available will be highlighted. The conference morning will close with an update on first stages of commissioning through the Childrens Fund, the lessons learnt and the implications for all those involved across the sector.
The conference afternoon offers delegates the opportunity to ask their questions about commissioning and procurement and find out more about the offers of support available from Walsall Endeavours and Walsall Voluntary Action.
