Training Event / Conference in BoltonPublished in Training, News, Local News, WVA News on 10th September, 2008

Providing the right community services in the right way to a diverse customer base presents many opportunities and challenges. In order to provide a good service organisations must understand the needs of the communities which they serve. They also have an obligation to carry out their functions in a way that eliminates unlawful discrimination.

Organisations must deliver their services in a manner which promotes both good community relations and best use of resources for future development. Once organisations understand the requirements of their customers, innovative processes can be adopted which present opportunities to respond appropriately and effectively to their needs.

This conference aims to help service providers and policy makers to improve the services they offer to mixed communities and look at current approaches to community sustainability. Government representatives will set out policy on community cohesion. The conference will give delegates the opportunity to hear from organisations already successfully working in this field looking at their current approaches to community sustainability.

All of the organisations involved in this event share a strong commitment to the community cohesion agenda and will be encouraging debate around the direction of future service delivery.
