The Walsall Partnership is currently in the process of developing a full funding application to Advantage West Midlands for the Connections to Opportunities Programme.   Walsall has been allocated £730,000 over a three year period to deliver bottom up activities to assist long term unemployed or workless people on the path to employment. Attached for your information are the final criteria for the Connections to Opportunities programme here: C2O Final Criteria
In order to inform this process we require a detailed understanding on what activity / project / programmes are being delivered in Walsall that meet the challenge of moving people who are workless through to employment through delivery undertaken by third sector organisations. We are particularly interested in those organisations whose principle focus is on supporting:
- Disabled people and those with health conditions
- Lone Parents
- Ethnic minorities
- Older people (over 50) who are suffering from economic exclusion
- People with low or no qualifications
An online questionnaire has been produced to collate the information necessary to support our application to Advantage West Midlands for the Connections to Opportunities Programme, and it can be found by here: http://www2.walsall.gov.uk/Consultations/connectionsopps/connectionsopps.htm
Downloadable and printable version here: C2O Questionnaire 2009
I would therefore be grateful if you could complete the electronic questionnaire for EVERY activity your organisation is responsible for. The deadline for completing the questionnaire is Friday 24th April 2009.  Failure to return the questionnaire will mean that your organisation activity is not captured and will therefore not be known to the Walsall Partnership.   This questionnaire will build upon the previous mapping exercise undertaken last year to inform us of where activity is taking place, type of beneficiary targeted and success of activity.   This process should highlight any gaps in service provision that need to be focussed on in future and also services that may need up scaling or replicating.   The process will almost certainly inform the development of a full funding application to Advantage West Midlands which is due to completed by end May 2009.
An event to launch the Connections to Opportunities programme will take place on Thursday 30th April 2009 at 1pm at The Crossing, Darwall Street, Walsall. Please put this date in your diary, a formal invitation and agenda to this session will follow shortly.Â
Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete and return of the questionnaire.
