Invitations to Tender

‘Reduction of Child Poverty and its impact’

Walsall Council and the Local Strategic Partnership have agreed that the Reduction of Child Poverty (and/or its impact) across the Borough is a priority and have included targets in the Local Area Agreement and the Children and Young People’s Plan.  We have identified two neighbourhoods where we wish to pilot an innovative approach to Reducing Child Poverty, working closely with our Children’s Area Partnerships and Local Neighbourhood Partnerships.

Walsall Council is inviting suitably experienced providers from private, voluntary and independent sectors with the opportunity to tender for a service to Reduce Child Poverty and its impact.

The service must address in a coordinated way, the three goals of our strategy to reduce Child Poverty;

1.       Mitigate against the effects of Child Poverty (immediate impact)

2.       Reduce parental worklessness & low income (immediate/short term impact)

3.       Raise Aspirations (medium/long term impact)

We welcome approaches that have an evidence base for successfully reducing Child Poverty and/or its impact in targeted neighbourhoods which supports families and coordinates all the relevant agencies to maximise their impact.
