INVITATION TO TENDER

WALSALL CHILDRENS SERVICES – SERCO REQUIRE SUITABLE PROVIDERS TO DELIVER INNOVATIVE ACTIVITIES TO IMPROVE ENGAGEMENT AND INCREASE PARTICIPATION TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF YOUNG PEOPLE NOT IN EDUCATION, EMPLOYMENT OR TRAINING (NEET)

We will be looking to appoint providers who can deliver projects to positively engage young people

• in Key stages 3 and 4 at risk of becoming NEET
• at post 16 who are NEET

Projects will need to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the varied needs of young people particularly those:

• Considered hardest to help including young people with serious personal and/or social barriers to learning and progression
• Young People considered to be/or aspiring to be vocationally focused but who may not have the necessary skills/knowledge/expertise to directly access a vocational pathway

The applicants will be required to work with a range of public, private and voluntary sector partners in the delivery of the service provision.

The contracts will be for a period of two years commencing from 1^st September 2009.

Applicants will be expected to demonstrate their financial and commercial standing and have good quality management systems.
