Volunteering goes global with ConcordiaPublished in Featured, News, WVA News on 17th December, 2009
Do you need volunteers? Would you like to work with people from around the world?
Concordia is a registered charity working with organisations across the UK, bringing international volunteers to work on community projects and sending young people from Britain to volunteer projects around the globe. Concordia are now looking for new UK organisations to work with this summer.
It’s a chance to bring an international dimension to your community project, gain valuable extra workers and skills, experience a new way of working and inspire local young people to volunteer and explore the world.
Concordia will provide a group of international volunteers for a period of 2 – 4 weeks over the summer, or longer term volunteers for up to a year. The charity will also provide a group leader, project support and detailed feedback at the end of the project.
They are seeking interesting projects from community-based or environmental organisations operating on a not-for-profit basis.  Participating organisations will also need to provide food and accommodation for the volunteers for the duration of the project (accommodation can be simple, for example in a school hall or camping facilities).
To find out more, contact Concordia by emailing incoming@concordiavolunteers.org.uk, phoning 01273 422535 or writing to Concordia International Volunteers, 19 North Street, Portslade, Brighton BN14 1DH.
