Invest in Walsall: Partnership Plan Consultation, 21 January 2010Published in Featured, Local News, News, WVA News on 12th January, 2010
Proposals to regenerate Walsall’s neighbourhoods are under discussion at a special consultation event to be held on 21 January by Walsall Council and Walsall Partnership.Working with the national Homes and Communities Agency, the Council and Partnership are developing a “place-based” approach to service delivery, designed to create neighbourhoods that people choose to live and work in. The aim is to create a shared investment agreement, bringing together the borough’s ambitions for housing, growth, renewal and sustainability.
The consultation, which will be held at the Village Hotel, Tempus Drive, Tempus Ten, Walsall WS2 8TJ, from 9:30am to 3:00pm, is designed to agree objectives for the Local Investment Plan, which will be agreed with the Homes and Communities Agency in March. During the course of the day, attendees will hear key note presentations from the Leader of the Council, Councillor Mike Bird, Deputy Council Leader Adrian Andrew, the Homes and Communities Agency and the Department of Communities and Local Government.Â
There will also be three workshops, facilitated by Birmingham University, focusing on funding issues, the “strategic fit” between the various local investment and community plans and the borough’s priorities.
