Walsall Voluntary Action is creating a Volunteer Managers Network to support volunteering across the borough. The Network will allow members to share good practice and gain additional knowledge around volunteering. Network members will gain the opportunity to share good practice, support and information, which will enable them to manage their volunteers more effectively.

Over in Dudley, a Volunteer Managers Network (DVON) has been successfully running for the past 20 years. DVON gives volunteer managers access to training opportunities on key issues like recruiting and retaining volunteers; networking opportunities and information on the latest funding programmes. DVON has also been extremely successful in promoting volunteering and celebrating the achievements of volunteers.

We’re keen to ensure that our Volunteer Managers Network addresses the issues that matter most for local managers and their organisations. That’s why we are asking you to take part in our Learning Needs survey, which will help us to gather an overall picture of the volunteer management training needs of groups and organisations in this area.
