For Private Companies - Corporate Social Responsibility
Corporate and social responsibility is defined as ‘a concept whereby companies integrate social and environmental concerns into their business operations and in their interaction with their stakeholders, on a voluntary basis.’
Increasingly, companies are expected to - and do - account for their social and environmental impact as well as their financial performance, and make a positive contribution to the communities they work in. The market is compelling companies to make changes, as products and brands are judged not only on their quality and pricing but on the reputation of those who produce them. In 2002 a PricewaterhouseCoopers survey of 1,200 business leaders found that 70% of chief executives agree that CSR is vital to the profitability of any company. CSR must be central to all business functions. It is a cultural change that should enable all employees to incorporate CSR principles in all business decisions.
WVA can support organisation in the design and delivery of a CSR strategy. Volunteering is a common way that large and smaller companies chose to deliver their CSR strategy. WVA are happy to discuss your organisations requirements and look to work with you to develop an approach that will be valued by the community. Contact us and we can begin to discuss how we can meet your needs.
